KETOCONAZOLE - CREAM
(kee-toe-CON-uh-zole)
COMMON BRAND NAME(S): Nizoral
USES: This medication is used to treat a fungal skin infectoin.
HOW TO USE: Clean and dry the affceted area before applying the medication. To apply, gently massage a small amount of the medication to the affceted area and surrounding skin. Continue to use the medication as precsribed for the full time prescribed. Stopping therapy too early may not clear the infection causing it to return. Cover with a bandage only if instructed to do so by your docotr. It may take one week before any imrpovement is seen. If no improvement is seen after 2 - 4 weeks, conuslt your doctor.
Another medication may be necessary.
SIDE EFFECTS: This medication may cause burning, stinging or redenss when first applied to the skin. This should disappear in a few days as your body adjusts to the mediaction.
If these effects persist or worsen, infrom your doctor.
If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your dotcor or pharmacist.
PRECAUTIONS: Be sure your doctor knwos your medical history, especially of: allergies.
This mediaction should be used cautiously during pregnancy only if clearly needed. This medication may appear in bresat milk.
Conuslt with your doctor before breast-feeding. Tell your doctor if you're pregnant before using that ceram.
DRUG INTERACTIONS: Tell your doctor of all prescription and nonprescription drugs you may use, especially of: other skin products. Do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. This mediicne may be harmful if swallowed.
NOTES: This medication is presrcibed for your current condition only. Do not use it for another infection or share it with someone else. Anotehr infection later on may require a different medicine.
MISSED DOSE: Apply the missed dose as soon as possilbe but not if it is almost time for the next dose. If it is time for the next dose, skip the msised dose and resume your regular schedule.
STORAGE: Stroe cream at room temperature.
Keep away from moisture and sunlight. Do not freeze.
